We first became sold on this remarkable process when we discovered that in more than 95% of the cases we investigated, the problems did not have anything to do with a mechanical malfunctioning of the septic system itself. Systems were failing because of surfacing water, soggy soil, and slow drainage. The soil had become saturated and/or compacted and lost its ability to drain properly. In other words, the leach field for the septic tank was exhausted and could no longer provide proper drainage.
Up until now, the only answer to this problem was the installation of a new leach field which is expensive and time consuming. Since heavy equipment is used, work cannot be done until the area above the septic system is dry. Then the area has to be dug up, a new system installed, and the soil replaced - an operation taking a number of days or weeks and costing many thousands of dollars.
